This is the complete document presented by Rome to the League: “Dear Sirs, We are amazed to learn of the publication of your Official Press Release Number 219 of 12.03.2021 with which the postponement of the “recovery of the match of the third first leg of the Serie A Tim Juventus-Napoli”, originally scheduled for on 17.03.2021, at 6.45 pm, as established in your previous Official Notice number 205 of 03.03.2021. From the same Official Press Release number 219 dated 12.03.2021, we learned that the postponement decision was adopted by the President of the Lega Nazionale Professionisti Serie A, “at the request of Juventus Fc and SSC Napoli”. We are aware that, without the paragraph 2 of art. 29 of the Statute-Regulations of the LNPA in force, the President can order the change of date of an official competition following a request from one or both of the companies involved. However, from paragraph 4 of the Statute Art. 29 it is clear that requests must be made in writing at least fifteen days before the date on which the championship match should take place. We therefore ask you to know when these requests were forwarded by the two companies in question, in order to ascertain the regularity of the obligations. We ask you to make us aware of the suitable reasons of sporting interest which, as known, must be the basis of your provision for referral in derogation. At present, in fact, it is completely devoid of adequate justification except for the implicit one of favoring the SSC Napoli calendar which should have met the undersigned company the following Sunday 21 March. It is clear to you, as you are responsible for managing the championship calendar, that with your decision you are relieving SSC Napoli from the commitment to play the match against Juventus, already officially scheduled on March 17, allowing them more time to prepare for the next one. match against AS Roma and a saving of its players (some of whom, moreover, under a warning) while, as you know, the same AS Roma is engaged on March 18 in the evening match of the Europa League in Kiev, Ukraine, with return expected in the very late night between Thursday and Friday; all this for more without having the opportunity to play on Monday due to the Uefa window scheduled for 22 February. All this information was obviously known to you even before the decision to move the game, which in the absence of clear sporting reasons, appears to have been taken with the sole intent of providing an unfair (and peaceful) advantage to SSC Napoli at the expense of AS Roma with evident conditioning of the regular outcome of the championship. In the absence of a reply from you regarding even just one of the above requests, the violation of the aforementioned Article 29 would therefore be evident. We therefore trust in your understanding and in the urgent adoption by you of the most appropriate corrective measures. Otherwise, we reserve all action to protect the undersigned company and the Shareholders and our Fans, in the offices and jurisdictions that become more appropriate. Alternatively, given the proximity to the second leg of the round of 16 of the Europa League Shakhtar-Roma, which will be held on 18.03.201, ffrom now on we formulate a formal request for postponement of Rome-Naples to a later date “.
