You have dedicated your career to the mountains, and now you have probably experienced the most special moment of your life there.

Travis Ganong (33) and Marie-Michèle Gagnon (32) are well known in the ski scene. He was runner-up in the downhill world champion in Vail in 2015, she won two World Cup races and has as many as 23 world championship starts under her belt. The American and Canadian have achieved a certain fame in the ski circus thanks to another special feature: They have been a couple for 13 years now. Now the next step followed.

Travis Ganong proposed a marriage to his lady of the heart. And she said, unsurprisingly, yes. To answer all questions, the speed specialist, who has also won two World Cup races in his career, has chosen a special location: he knelt under the fog-shrouded Matterhorn and took his future wife’s breath away.

A nice panorama for a marriage proposal.

“She went up to this place with me full of enthusiasm, without worrying about the adventure,” wrote Ganong, adding: “And she said yes. I love you.”

Which surname is coming now?

Marie-Michèle Gagnon was then completely over the moon and celebrated the engagement with a crazy dance. There were also many congratulations from the ski family, including from South Tyrol, for example from Manuela Mölgg or Peter Fill.

So there is only one question left: What will the last name of the two lovebirds be called after their wedding? After all, Gagnon and Ganong sound very similar. “The Ganong family has already started brainstorming our last name. Which is your favorite? ”Wrote an overjoyed Marie-Michèle with a wink on social media. To be found on this list, among others: Gonang, Nagong, Angong, Gnaong, Gonnag or Gagonn.
