Olof fully enjoys the Portuguese bed and breakfast. “He’s really nice. But do I really click? I don’t believe that,” says Marian. “But that can still grow, right? That can still come. That’s fine for me too, because then you also get to know someone slowly.”
The next love candidate has already arrived in the southern European country: Jan. He seems completely captivated by Marian even before he has met her. “I think it’s so beautiful. It’s unbelievable,” he says while he gets angry for a moment. “Who could have imagined this when you are 72? It will be the best weeks of my life, because it has all the ingredients for it.”
When he arrives, he immediately gives her a big hug. “Just feel if she’s real,” he laughs. “Oh, how I like this. My dream has come true.” Marian is overwhelmed by his presence. “I think he likes me,” she says. “He’s almost eating me, already.”
Marian takes her two men to the golf course. Jan immediately claims the only spot in the golf cart next to Marian. And so Olof has to walk. “I loved that I sat next to her and he walked, haha. The symbolic image: he lags behind.”
Marian notices that Jan is all about her. “If I’m alone with him for a while, he wants to cuddle. He’s so in love with me.” Jan really doesn’t let any grass grow over it. “I have met a very nice woman that I want to enjoy for the length of days in any form. I think it is very important that you know. I have met many women, but I still have one like you never met before,” he tells Marian. He’s already completely hotel junk. “The question is also: are you in love? If that feeling is in love… but that is very different at the age of 18 than now.”
It should be clear: not the scorching hot Portugal, but the B&B owner causes Jan to overheat. “I’m breaking out in a sweat, but it’s really true. I’ve never experienced this in my entire life, that I meet a woman who I only have to look at and then she also looks like: oh, wonderful . A man around me. And then I don’t want to know what she thinks, but she also looks happy. And that’s what I feel about her now. And I would hate to ruin that.”
