Romano’s Macaroni Grill closes its doors in San Patricio Plaza – NotiCel – The truth as it is – News about Puerto Rico – NOTICEL

After 20 years at the mall, they confirmed to NotiCel that they will not continue with the lease.

Employees who were preparing to start their day as usual in the Romano’s Macaroni Grill restaurant in San Patricio Plaza were met this morning with a sudden news: the store would close after more than 20 years of operations in the mall.

According to one of them, he told NotiCel that they had not been notified of anything prior to the closing, but management indicated that it was “a business decision.”

“This morning we held a meeting with all our employees and our Human Resources team to basically notify them that the 20-year lease that we fulfilled with San Patricio Plaza has ended,” Ramón Leal, vice president of operations at International Restaurant, told this newspaper. Services Inc, chain that operates Chili’s, Romano’s Macaroni Grill and PF Chang’s restaurants in Puerto Rico.

After the end of the contract, it was determined to close the restaurant.

However, Leal assured that there were no layoffs and that the 64 San Patricio employees were offered to be relocated to several of the aforementioned chain restaurants.

He also said that they are looking for an additional 400 people to hire them as part of their workforce at Chili’s, PF Chang’s and Romano’s Macaroni Grill, which still has five other restaurants in Puerto Rico.

“We appreciate the sponsorship of all our clients and the people who have been associated with our business for these 20 years,” concluded Leal.
