Romano closes the door on the proposed exchange deal between Chelsea and Bayern – Marseille News

Fabrizio Romano has said neither Chelsea nor Bayern Munich are considering a swap deal involving Christian Pulisic and Leroy Sane.

Pulisic has been linked with a move due to his difficult start to the 2021-22 campaign. He has had to deal with coronavirus and an ankle problem in recent weeks.

There are doubts about his ability to return to the team. german boss Thomas Tuchel likes to operate with Mason Mount, Kai Havertz or Timo Werner instead of Pulisic.

As a result, the Express suggested on September 5 that the American star could be shipped to Bayern.

They have offered a potential swap deal that would bring former Man City winger Sane back to the Premier League.

However, Romano believes the transfer is unlikely to happen. He tweeted: “Chelsea and Bayern are not currently considering any negotiations for a swap deal between Leroy Sane and Christian Pulisic. No ongoing discussion at the moment despite rumors.

The news means both players will likely stay at their respective clubs beyond the January transfer window.

Tuchel recently revealed that Pulisic is stepping up his return to training. However, he will not return for Wednesday’s Champions League group stage clash against Juventus.

Sane, meanwhile, has only played 90 minutes in the Bundesliga once this term. However, he still managed to score two goals and three assists in six appearances.

Despite struggling for form on occasion, Bayern boss Julian Nagelsmann recently said Sane would take more positions in the squad.

He said: “I’m already a coach who wants to defend variability and also requires his players to be able to play in different positions. This also applies to Leroy!

“Of course, as a coach you always have to consider that the player is playing in the position where he feels comfortable and thus brings his potential to the pitch. Of course, there will also be times when he plays on the right, where he plays at the center.

“Against Hertha, we changed at one point – and moved it to the central ten. It’s another job that suits him well. Leroy has the quality to play a supporting role anywhere on the pitch. And this is independent of the side or the position.

Bayern distance themselves from Chelsea man

Bayern have effectively pulled out of the race for Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger.

The Germany international is at the center of many transfer rumors due to his contractual situation.

His current contract in West London expires in June 2022, which means he can speak with interested clubs from January.

Bayern had been linked with his signing, alongside Real Madrid, but sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic excluded them.

He said: “We are really well served as a center-back. We have strengthened ourselves very well and brought a top player to Dayot Upamecano, Lucas Hernandez is there, Tanguy Nianzou is there, Benjamin Pavard can also play indoors – we are really, very, very well endowed.
