The Secretary of State in the Ministry of Transport Bogdan Mîndrescu announces that he notified the European Union Agency for Aviation Safety regarding the problem of flights operated by Wizz Air from Romania, after the company canceled nine flights in one day, for technical reasons, according to News.ro .

“Today we had a series of highly applied discussions regarding flight cancellations, operational delays and the situation of Wizz Air passengers in Romania. The meeting was attended by Yvonne Moynihan, Chief Corporate Officer Wizz Air Group, Zsuzsanna Poss, Chief Communications and Customer Officer Wizz Air Group, and Diarmuind O Conghaile, Managing Director Wizz Air Malta. I officially notified the representatives of Wizz Air that I have informed the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (this body is also the one that licensed the airline) in order to quickly implement the relevant legislation, considering that Wizz Air canceled 9 races in one day for technical reasons”, said Bogdan Mîndrescu, Friday evening, in a post on Facebook.
He added that he urgently asked the management of Wizz Air for a plan of concrete measures to reduce the number of flights canceled for technical reasons and to ensure the consistency of air flights, also solving the problem of flight personnel working over the allowed time limit.
“Present at the discussions, the President of ANPC, Horia Constantinescu, informed the Wizz Air representatives that he had notified the European Authority for Passenger Rights regarding the situations generated in our country by Wizz Air. I informed the management of Wizz Air that we will monitor them carefully and warned them, at the same time, that we will not tolerate any slippage from the international and national regulations in the field of aviation”, the state secretary also pointed out.
The Ministry of Economy, Entrepreneurship and Tourism (MEAT) announces, on Thursday, that Romanians who encounter various problems with Wizz Air flights can submit complaints on the website of the European Consumer Center Romania. The company cannot be sanctioned by the Romanian authorities, as it does not have representation in our country.
