Eight hundred Romanians arrived in the country with the help of repatriation flights from Israel. People complain that they had to pay for tickets to return to Romania for the races organized at the request of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Asked about the situations in which Romanian repatriates complained that they were asked for money to come to the country, Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu said, on Monday, in Varna, that he did not know the tariffs of the companies, but he would discuss on Tuesday with the Minister of Transport and the president of the Competition Council in this sense.

How many Romanians are still in Israel?

Cesare Scutari, journalist Digi24: “There are still more than 800 Romanians in Israel who are waiting for support to return home. The problem is that even for the flights operated by the state company, tickets are only available on Fridays. The Romanian Patriarchate conveyed that those who are on pilgrimage are safe, it is about hundreds of Romanian pilgrims who are still waiting for the green light from the military to be able to return home.

As for the Romanians who have already arrived in the country, there are 800 people, most of whom arrived via repatriation flights. Many of them complained that they had to pay 350 euros per ticket to get home.”

Marcel Ciolacu says that he does not know the companies’ tariffs and claims that he will have more discussions with the Minister of Transport in this regard. “I don’t know the tariff, but tomorrow, after other visits, I will have a discussion with members of the Government and with the Minister of Transport, let’s see where we can fit in, because I saw that many companies to which they already had a ticket in fact do not follow to return their money and offer them other trips, which doesn’t seem fair to me. I will also talk to the president of the Competition Council and the Minister of Transport, we are not talking about very many citizens. There were also people who were on pilgrimage, we will discuss on a case-by-case basis, to cover these amounts”, said the Prime Minister in Varna, when asked about the situations in which Romanian repatriates complained that they were asked for money to come to the country

Marcel Ciolacu stated that it is important that many companies refused to make these trips and thanked Taromul for taking the risk and repatriating the Romanians. There is no need for military aircraft, the prime minister also said.
