Romanian Post Director: The beneficiary of an energy card can call the call center to call the postman at home to collect his bill

Romanian Post bought the 7,000 mobile terminals for employees who will collect bills with energy cards from February 20. “We expect them to use them to their maximum capacity,” says Romanian Post director Valentin Ștefan on the Digi Context podcast.

When asked if the postal employees have learned to use these machines, the director of the Post Office says that “it is another test that we will find out next week. In principle we do not worry, because using a PDA does not require more training than the knowledge required to use a modern mobile phone. So I don’t think it will be a problem, especially since using it only requires using an app first.”

Valentin Ștefan does not think that all postmen will use these machines to collect bills.

“That’s why we bought only 7,000 PDAs, when we have 10,000 postmen. We just want to make sure there’s reasonable coverage for our customers to be able to pay their bills conveniently,” says Valentin Ștefan on the Digi Context podcast.

The director of the Romanian Post Office says that most of the beneficiaries of these cards are pensioners who also know the days when the postmen come to their homes. If a person does not know the day on which the postman is in his area, then he can call the Romanian Post call center at number 031.9966. At this number, he can request that a postman come to his address to collect the bill.

“Most of the beneficiaries of energy cards are also our customers. That is, they are either pensioners and we take their pensions home, they are either people who receive social assistance or some other type of aid from the state, so there is already a connection between the postal employee and that person, a number is known. on the phone, they know each other. If there is a person who does not know the postman, then that person can call the call center provided by the Romanian Post at phone number 031.9966 and can ask for a postman to come to his home and collect his bill. It’s a new service for us and we have few emotions not to lose any requests. Just as a colleague of ours knows he has to take a letter to a certain address, he can physically go there without taking anything.”says Valentin Ștefan.

The director of the Romanian Post stated that the record of calls to the call center was recorded on Wednesday, when there were over 8,000 calls.

“We are doing very well for a call center created especially for this project. There are certain times of the day, such as lunch, when the waiting time is longer.”
