A Romanian couple has been convicted in the Agder District Court for having stolen goods worth more than NOK 300,000 from 17 Europris stores and one pharmacy.
Both received a sentence of one year and two months in prison.
The two mainly stole make-up and hygiene products, such as deodorant, mascara and razor blades.

The theft raid went from Lyngdal in the south of Agder and all the way up to Hamar in Innlandet.
The man first examined the store shelves, and then kept a lookout while the woman stuffed the goods into a bag or sack, according to the court papers.
Caught in the act
Police attorney Vanja Bruvoll explains that the two were eventually caught after a description of the car was passed on between the shops.
The car was full of stolen goods when they were stopped, according to the court papers.
– They were caught in the act. Then they found an Airbnb apartment they had rented. Almost all the other stolen goods were there, she says.
– Why almost only Europris stores?
– We don’t know that. It could be that they are familiar with the security routines and that it went well there the first few times. But they haven’t said anything about it.

Police attorney in the Agder police district.
– He already confessed to everything during the first interrogation and has wanted to put the matter behind him, says the man’s defender, Elias Saeme.
The woman has also confessed, but has appealed the length of the sentence. Her sentence is therefore not legally binding yet, says defender Anis Kanbar.
STINKS: From one of the shops alone, the couple had stolen over NOK 10,000 worth of deodorants.
Less often than before
Vanja Bruvoll in the police says that this type of serial theft was more common a few years ago.
– Then it has been quiet. There is much less of it than there was before.
