A small single-engine Pilatus PS-12 plane with eight people crashed today in an empty office building in the suburbs of Milan San Donato Milanese, ANSA reported, quoted by BTA. Everyone on board died. The plane took off from Milan’s Linate Airport. He had to get to Olbia. The building where the machine hit was empty due to repairs. The 24 Chasa newspaper reported about the incident at 5:29 p.m.
According to initial information, the plane was carrying 68-year-old real estate mogul Dan Petrescu, who has Romanian and German citizenship. He was accompanied by his 65-year-old wife, who has Romanian and French citizenship, and their 30-year-old son, Dan Stefan Petrescu, who has Romanian and German citizenship. The plane was owned by Dan Petrescu and he himself piloted it in today’s tragedy. Petrescu was one of the main investors in the real estate sector in Romania.
Eyewitnesses said the plane’s engine was engulfed in flames. Then the machine seemed to dive uncontrollably towards the building and crashed into the roof, then crashed and debris flew in all directions.
