The Christmas special episode “Las Fierbinţi” led the Christmas audience by far. Much more than ‘Home Alone 3’, which aired on Antena 1 the day after ‘Home Alone 2’ was on Pro TV, says Media page.
Las Fierbinţi’s audience was approximately twice that of Singur Acăşa 3, across all audience segments.
Over 2.2 million Romanians watched Las Fierbinţi every minute, compared to 1.2 million on Singur Acasă 3. Last year, when Singur Acasă 3 was also on Antena 1 and also fought with Las Fierbinţi (but a replay), the difference was slightly less. Antena 1 also lost then, but with a closer score.
Particular is the episode of Las Fierbinţi given this year on Christmas night, with a memorable speech by Mayor Vasile:
“When it was good in Europe, it was bad here. Now it’s bad in Europe and it’s even worse here. And this dragon has grown. We have to fight it, test it, bring it down, moving away from the political class. This is what we have to do.
But in the end, who knows what will happen next, who knows what it will be like. You know that saying: I know I’m getting married in the fall, but who am I going to sleep with at night? With who?! That I’m sick of gargling. And theirs and mine. I say I do and I do nothing.
Romania educated. Gargle! Without money what to do? Thousands of km of highways. Gargle! Hundreds of new hospitals. Gargle! New schools. Gargle!”, Mayor Vasile said in his speech to the residents of Las Fierbinţi.
