TASS, October 14. The 2006 Olympic champion in figure skating and ice dancing, Roman Kostomarov, published a video of himself driving a car on his Telegram channel. Kostomarov explained that he was driving along a track intended for motorcycle racing.
“Well, here I go. Pants full of happiness,” the skater captioned the video.
Previously, 46-year-old Kostomarov published videos of him swimming in the pool, doing exercises to rise to the surface on prosthetics, running exercises, and warming up with a soccer ball.
On January 10, Kostomarov was admitted to intensive care with pneumonia. Later, a TASS source reported that the skater was in serious condition and was in a medically induced coma in a hospital in Kommunarka. Kostomarov was connected to an ECMO machine; on January 24, this was no longer necessary, but the skater continued to have sepsis and had problems with blood circulation. On February 7, a source told TASS that Kostomarov had both feet and parts of his hands amputated.
