With Roman Josi, a Swiss man is providing positive news in the NHL despite the break. The 29-year-old from Bern is voted third best defender of the league by teammates and competitors.
Of the 520 votes of the NHL professionals, less than ten percent went to the captain of the Nashville Predators. Only Victor Hedman (37.88 percent) from Tampa Bay Lightning and John Carlson (21.35 percent) from Washington Capitals received more support than Josi. The Swiss had finished 5th in the previous year. Of all the NHL defenders, Josi was the second most productive scorer until the break: 16 goals and 49 assists in 69 games.
The best striker award went to Edmonton Oilers’ Connor McDavid ahead of his two compatriots Sidney Crosby (Pittsburgh Penguins) and Nathan MacKinnon (Colorado Avalanche).
