The Roman Days of Nîmes will take place on Friday 3, Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 May.
Hundreds of re-enactors will return to Nîmes for the Roman Days with a major historical spectacle which this year will have barbarians as its theme.
The performances will take place in the Roman amphitheater on Friday May 3, at 5:30 p.m., Saturday May 4 and Sunday May 5 at 3:30 p.m. At the same time, numerous activities are planned throughout the city.
In an exceptional setting, more than 600 reenactors from all over Europe bring to life the history of the barbarians and the Battle of Teutoburg against the Romans. The show will allow us to rediscover this little-known page of history. In AD 9, an alliance of Germanic tribes ambushed and decisively destroyed a force of three Roman legions and their auxiliaries, led by Augustus’ legate propraetor of Germania, Publius Quinctilius Varus.
This story full of twists and turns will plunge the audience into the heart of the Roman Empire and its unification. The ticket office has just opened, places are available from €5 to €64. A gift idea to slip under the Christmas tree?
