Román Cepeda inaugurates paddle tennis courts at the Torreón Sports Unit

Torreon, Coahuila. – With an investment of more than two million pesos, the Mayor of Torreón, Román Alberto Cepeda González, inaugurated the new paddle tennis courts of the Torreón Sports Unit (UDT), an infrastructure that was built under a collaboration scheme between the Municipal Government and the Private Initiative.

There are four paddle tennis courts, each one measuring 10 by 20 meters, and they were carried out under the 1 to 1 scheme, where the Municipal Administration built the same number of courts as the businessmen.

The Municipal President thanked all those who make possible the new reality of the Torreón Sports Unit in collaboration with his Government, such as the Private Initiative and the Board of Trustees.

“Changing Torreón is not only a matter of good will, it requires people who have the willingness, responsibility and commitment to want to do it,” said the mayor.

He said that in addition to security and economic development, sport is a fundamental factor for the growth of the city.

The Torreón Sports Unit is visited monthly by more than 70 thousand people.

Alicia de la Soledad Guerrero Garibay, president of the UDT board of trustees, said that important changes are currently being made in the sports space, thanks to the support of Mayor Román Alberto Cepeda González, Governor Miguel Ángel Riquelme Solís and the Private Initiative.

“The times of oblivion are over, and they are over when you arrived President, this new Administration is here to serve”, he commented.
He assured that with the support of the Municipal Government, the State Government and the Private Initiative, what had not been done in years was achieved, and he gave the new paddle tennis courts as an example.
