Roma talent Benjamin Tahirovic, 20, recently opted out of Sweden’s national team for games with Bosnia and Herzegovina’s counterpart, and made his debut in March with two A internationals against Iceland and Slovakia in the European Championship qualifiers.
The 20-year-old started on Sunday against Bologna (0-0) in Serie A, and afterwards coach José Mourinho is pleased with the midfielder’s performance, while being a bit joking.
– I hope I am not misunderstood, and that you get the joke. Sometimes he (Tahirovic) is Swedish, sometimes Bosnian. When he is Swedish, he is calmer and relaxed. When he is Bosnian, he is my warrior, and when he is a warrior, he has incredible potential,” said Mourinho, according to the Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport.
This season, Tahirovic is listed for eleven matches, nine of which are in Serie A, with Roma, who are sixth in the league, as well as in the semi-finals of the Europa League.
