Roma, the competitor in the Italian Football League, announced today, Sunday, that it had signed a contract with Algerian Houssem Aouar, after the end of his contract with French Lyon.
“We are pleased to announce the signing of the Algerian midfielder,” Roma said on Twitter.
Aouar, 24, has a contract with Roma until 2028.
“I am happy to sign for Roma because they are a great team with a great history,” Aouar told Roma’s website. This is the right project for me.
“It is an important team… and it has its own unique fans. I’m ready”.
Aouar will wear the number 22 shirt.
Aouar decided to represent the Algerian national team in March, taking advantage of the amendment of the FIFA regulations, after he represented France.
Roma finished the league in sixth place, and finished runners-up to the European Champions League after losing on penalties against Seville, Spain.
