Olympiacos had another great performance today in the friendly against Roma (1-1) in Rieti.
Olympiacos left a very good impression in the first half. With intensity in his game and suffocating pressing, he stole balls and did not let Roma create any danger in his defense. It is typical that the Italians without phases opened the score in the 17th minute with a penalty when Ortega marked Abraham. Pellegrini took a penalty, Tzolakis saved but was unable to change the course of the ball enough that it ended up in the net.
Olympiakos’ response was immediate and in the same way. In the 22nd minute, Celik overthrew the impressive Velde and the penalty that was awarded was duly executed by Rodney, making it 1-1.
In the second half, the “red and white” threatened at the start, three times with shots by Kostoulas, Bakula and Biel, while Tzolakis saved a shot by Beauvais.
In the 75th minute, Velde headed in from Biel’s cross and the ball, with the help of Svilar, stopped on the crossbar of Roma.
