Roma are preparing Pochettino as a replacement for Mourinho

Argentinian coach Mauricio Pochettino has been part of growing speculation about the future of Portuguese Jose Mourinho, Roma’s Italian manager.

According to the Italian website “Calciomercato”, the Giallorossi club is already preparing an alternative plan in anticipation of the possible departure of Mourinho, considered one of the strongest candidates to lead the Portuguese national team.

The Italian site has indicated that Roma intend to contract with Pochettino in the event of Mourinho’s departure, given that the Argentine coach is one of the most experienced in Europe, as well as not having been associated with any club since his departure from Paris Saint-Germain, “and therefore the wolves will not have to pay any penalty”.”.

“Pochettino will be one reason why Roma will not put many obstacles in front of Mourinho to terminate his contract, which extends until the summer of 2024, and allow him to lead his country.”

Several reports had claimed that Mourinho would succeed Fernando Santos in the Portugal coaching seat, to lead his country after the 2022 World Cup.

The Portuguese national team was deposited at the 2022 World Cup in the quarterfinals at the hands of the Moroccan national team.
