The astronomical explanation of this effect is not so simple, but it indicates that it would be more or less like this: This lunar ring or halo appears as a circle of multicolored light around the moon, something that happens when moonlight is refracted through ice crystals in higher-lying clouds, also called cirrus clouds. Being in colder layers of the atmosphere carry those ice crystals that act as microscopic prisms, creating that ring of light similar to when light passes through a diamond.
Now bringing that to the paint of a car was another big task. The workers of Rolls-Royce needed more than a year of experimentation to be able to achieve it. Time in which both the paint chemistry, application times and the base coat were exhaustively tested to achieve what the client requested.
In order to do this, seven layers of lacquer were applied, including one of pearlescent paint with a special formula and impregnated with fine flakes of magnesium and aluminum fluoride. This results in a deep metallic effect in low light and It will burst into a rainbow when the sun shines on it.
Work was also done in the bespoke interior with Navy Blue, White and Peony Pink toneswhich are the colors that are reminiscent of the spectrum of tones that can be seen during the lunar halo and that are present on the door panels, seats and the Starlight headliner itself.
Clearly the work was remarkable and the final result worthy of being in a museum. This gem does not have a defined price, but it is known that this two-door model starts at $423,000.that is, almost 420 million Chilean pesos. It should be remembered that this powerful car has a dual-motor electric powertrain that generates 577 HP. Its estimated driving range is up to 460 kilometers of autonomy.
