What emotion does the song Angry have.
– We didn’t spend much time recording this album. We had a number of ideas that we put together just before Christmas last year, says Ronnie Wood.
They decided to finish the recordings by Valentine’s Day. 23 songs were recorded, 12 of which were selected for the upcoming album.
– The fact that 18 years have passed probably indicates that we have been a bit lazy. Now we decided to set a deadline. We went into the studio in December, finished in January and had the songs mixed in February, says Jagger.
Jagger talks about a song being gospel.
They also confirmed that the artist Lady Gaga contributes a melody called “Sweet sound of Heaven”.

After a teaser campaign, in which the band’s recognizable tongue logo was marketed on various buildings in New York, Los Angeles, London and other cities, the band announced the news last Monday.

First album without Charlie Watts
“Hackney Diamonds” comes 18 years after their previous album of new songs, “A bigger bang”, was released in 2005. The band’s previous album “Blue & Lonesome”, released in 2016, consisted of cover songs.
“Hackney Diamonds” will be the band’s first album without drummer Charlie Watts, who died in 2021, aged 80.
Last year, the band marked 60 years with an anniversary tour, then with drummer Steve Jordan.
– Everything has changed without Charlie. He is number four. We miss him very much, Keith Richards answers to questions about what it was like to record the new album without him.
Drummer Steve Jordan is also featured on the new studio album. Charlie Wats recommended Jordan as his successor long before he died.
– It would have been much more difficult without Charlie’s blessing, says Richards.
– Two of the songs on the new album were recorded in 2019 with Charlie Watts behind the drums, adds Jagger.

Former member, Bill Wyman, was asked to come to the studio.
He played bass guitar in the Rolling Stones from 1962-1993.
– Bill Wyman is on one of the songs, says Jagger.
At the end of the event, TV host Jimmy Fallon presented actor Sydney Sweeney, known from among others White Lotus, who is in the music video Angry.
– This is my biggest assignment ever, says Sweeney.

The late Watts has been called the glue that held the band together. A genuine musician through and through who loved jazz and was skeptical of stardom.
