Rolling Stones break UK album chart record

The Rolling Stones have set a new record in Britain by being the first band in the world to top the UK’s best-selling album chart in six decades.

This week reached the remastered re-release of Goats Head Soup ranked first in the official album chart. In 1973 that album also topped the list.

The British band has now delivered a total of 13 No.1 albums since its inception in 1962 (including the reissues of Exile On Main St. in Goats Head Soup). That’s the same number as Elvis Presley and Robbie Williams. Only The Beatles have fared better with 17 # 1 albums (including two reissues) in the UK album chart
