What a victory! The RSH Caen made strong beating Anglet 3-4, Saturday October 24, 2020. It is not so much the result in itself, however enhanced by the chaotic preparation that the Conquerors went through, as the scenario of the meeting which incites enthusiasm.
A preparation truncated by the Covid
One minute and eleven seconds from the buzzer, Caen was led 3-1. A small underperformance for the second in the ranking, but also the consequence of weeks of training very disturbed by many cases of Covid-19 – symptomatic – in the workforce. The Caen had prepared the trip as they could, but certainly not in optimal conditions.
Three goals in two minutes
After a goalless half, the RSHC was picked up by Illan Farmer at the start of the second half. Théo Faucherand equalized, but Anglet then scored two goals in quick succession (3-1, 41 ′). The business was badly started in view of the context. But while there were exactly 71 seconds to play, Gérôme Guérin gave hope to his family (3-2, 49 ′). 50 seconds later, 21 seconds from the buzzer, Valentin Gonzalez snatched the equalizer (3-3-50 ′). The momentum was for Caen from the start of extra time, and Julien Couraud only needed 25 seconds to offer the victory to the Conquerors.
Second in the standings
The RSHC goes back to second place with three wins in three games: one in regulation time, one in overtime and one on penalties! He is now preparing the reception of Garges with a major unknown: will he be considered a professional club and, in this, allowed to train and play? Its players are amateurs but it evolves in the first division. Exactly like Hérouville Futsal.
