And given the ever greater and more precise requirements of the ATP for the Masters 1000 concerning, first of all, the dimensions and the reception capacity, the Paris La Défense Arena seemed the only way for the FFT to keep this tournament considered the most prestigious in the category. The authority sees even further a year from migrating to Nanterre. For the FFT, this shift, which is anything but anecdotal, must be accompanied by a new dimension to give to the Rolex Paris Masters, which will grow very quickly.

“With this move to Paris La Défense Arena, we will give ourselves the means to achieve our ambitions by offering players and our spectators an experience that they will remember for the rest of their lives,” assures Gilles Moretton, referring to a “major strategic decision ( and carefully considered) in the history of the tournament. Cédric Pioline, the director of the Rolex Paris Masters, is also rubbing his hands. “I am convinced that moving to Paris La Défense Arena marks a significant step in the evolution of the Rolex Paris Masters and opens up a multitude of possibilities in terms of programming but also in terms of welcoming players and spectators. »
A change which should materialize at the program level as well. The arrival at La Paris La Défense Arena will notably make it possible to go from four to three matches during the day (and still two in the evening) and to offer a doubles tournament for 28 teams, compared to 24 today. Enough to avoid starting matches at such a late time that it had caused a lot of controversy in recent years. But that was before.
