Rolands Atkočūnas’ latest production “The Fourth Chair” will premiere at “Willa Theater”
Riga, July 31, LETA. On Sunday, August 9, at 8 pm in Riga, “Willa Theater” in the garden of KK von Strick’s Villa, the premiere of the new production of Tonino Gverra’s play “The Fourth Chair” directed by Rolandas Atkočūnas will take place, Kalvis Lasmanis, a theater representative, informed LETA.
The Willa Theater plans to start the new theater season with two premieres. One of them will be a production by Lithuanian director Atkočūnas – a performance of two actors “The Fourth Chair” with Inga Alsiņš-Lasmanis and Gati Gāga.
“The Fourth Chair” is a story about two people who meet in difficult conditions. It is a normal working day for her, but it is probably the last day of her life, and she lets a stranger into her apartment.
“Why” The Fourth Chair “? Because the world sometimes gets confused. Because the author of the play Tony Gverra wrote scripts for films by Federico Fellini, Michelangelo Antonioni, Andrei Tarkovsky and other outstanding filmmakers. Because the serious comedy was written for two actors. “The show can be played outdoors and it is cinematic. I wanted to create a live cinema,” commented the director.
