Successful surprise: Rogue is undefeated after the first half of the group stage of the League of Legends World Championship. Fnatic is also in good position, but G2 Esports is struggling in its group.
Rogue has so far confidently prevailed in his group against Vietnamese champions GAM Esports and DRX from Korea. The European champions also showed a convincing performance against the clearly favored Top Esports of China and secured the lead in Group C.
Fnatic is also doing well and is currently tied in Group A with world champion Edward Gaming and T1 from Korea. Fnatic managed a surprise win against T1 and only had to admit defeat against EDG. G2 as the third representative of the LEC has difficulties: so far it has only been enough to win over Evil Geniuses, against the Chinese JDG and Damwon from Korea G2 has lost and currently has to worry about entering the round of 16.
Things are not going according to plan at all for the North American teams at the World Cup at home, with EG, Cloud9 and 100 Thieves all left winless in the group stage.
