Legia’s player from Brazil, Andre Luiz, won the running duel with the hosts’ player and was heading for the goal. Gutta decided to come out of it and kicked Luiz right in the face with a jumping kick.

Gutta immediately saw a red card from the referee, but that does not change the fact that Andre Luiz is seriously injured. According to Legia Futsal, after this incident the Brazilian will have to undergo two surgeries – the jaw and the collarbone. This excludes from the game for several months. “In connection with the situation that occurred at yesterday’s game, we would like to express our deep concern and our strong opposition to the reckless and disgusting behavior of Gutta – the goalkeeper of the team who is against it. principles of fair play and the health and safety of other players.
As a result of this violent incident, our player suffered a serious injury that requires two immediate surgeries – jaw surgery and clavicle surgery, which will lead to a longer break from the game. This type of brutal behavior could have led to even worse health consequences, and its effects could be permanent not only on Andre Luiz’s career, but also on his private life.
Our club’s competition yesterday against Contract Lubawa was a real display and the essence of our discipline, showing that our league deserves scenes like this and the great atmosphere we experienced in Lubawa. It is also worth noting that the closing of our player could have had a big impact on the course of the game, which we lost a little to the Polish Vice-Champion. But despite the current situation, the result is secondary – the most important thing is the health and safety of everyone – player, coach and fan of our futsal community.
As Legia Futsal club, we strongly say STOP to such brutal behavior on futsal floors! We ask the FOGO Futsal Ekstraklasa League Committee to clarify this matter and impose the harshest punishment on the player of the opposing team. Only decisive actions can prevent such situations from reoccurring in the future and protect other players from similar behavior.
