“I was the leader of the group of friends: I thought up, invented and arranged everything,” says Rogier. “I had many friends and with my two best friends I formed a trinity; the three Stooges. I really was a kid. And yet: when I look back, being gay was already there. I always wore beautiful clothes and looked very neat. I’ve never been bullied. “

“They watched three times before bullying me; I wouldn’t let the cheese be eaten off my bread,” he continues. Rogier also explains that he used to look very cross-eyed: “I was very cross-eyed, so I often had a plaster on my eye. (…) I was eventually operated on. It was difficult that I always had a plaster on, but otherwise I had no issues. “
“Everyone wanted to be with me, I was tough,” said Rogier. “By the way, didn’t do my best for that, it was automatic. I am always myself, never play a role. That was the case back then and I think that made me cool. I didn’t pretend I was any different.”
