Roger Federer will also enrich the Laver Cup after his visit to Wimbledon.
At the forthcoming edition in Vancouver from 22.-24. On September 1st, the Wimbledon record winner will again be part of the showdown between Europe and the rest of the world, a year after his last match. However, to the displeasure of all tennis fans, Federer will not pick up the racquet himself.
On Friday evening, the Swiss will toss the coin before the last match of the day and then be available for an interview with Jim Courier on the court, as the Laver Cup itself announced.
Federer ended up playing doubles with Nadal
Federer, who is a co-initiator of the Laver Cup, played his last official professional match at the Laver Cup last year, also on Friday evening alongside Rafael Nadal in doubles. Together they lost to the US duo Francis Tiafoe and Jack Sock. The fans in the hall and on the TVs then experienced an emotional farewell to the “Maestro”.
