Rafael Nadal is preparing for the new season in Kuwait
Roger Federer has been officially retired for over a year now and is keeping his promise not to be a ghost for the tennis world and appears here and there in public, visibly enjoying his tennis retirement.
On the way to China, the Swiss CGTN Sports Scene gave an interview in which he commented on all the latest tennis news. Above all, the 20-time Grand Slam winner spoke about Djokovic’s current dominance and the comeback of Rafael Nadal, who will be playing at an ATP tournament for the first time after a year’s break, which begins in Brisbane at the end of the year. “I hope that Rafa can come back very strong next year,” as the former number 1 in the world rankings explained.
Federer: “It was fantastic to share the court with them”
The Serbian tennis star made it clear that he does not want to retire yet, which Federer welcomes. “I was really lucky and grateful to have played against each of them almost 40 to 50 times, so I have a lot of memories of a lot of great matches and fights. I have answered questions about them so many times and I can only say the best things about them . It was great to share the court with them for so many years.” He also hopes that Novak will be on the tour for many years to come because: “It’s really good for the game to still have these guys there .”
Die “Big-Three”
Federer, Djokovic and Nadal together dominated the tennis world for two decades and will go down in history as the “Big Three”. In total, the Swiss played against the Spaniard 40 times, with Nadal winning 24 games. The Swiss also played against Djokovic 50 times and won the game 23 times.
The big two could then meet for the first time at the Australian Open, possibly in the first round.
