Lady Gaga’s fingernail was once auctioned off. But the shoes would certainly make a lot of profit.

When stars auction their used private property, buyers take a whole bunch of money into their hands. This is proven by Roger Federer’s auction this July at the London auction house “Christie’s”. The maestro was able to earn a total of 4.28 million Swiss francs from the sale of used tennis rackets, sweatbands, balls and the like. The money was then donated to his RF Foundation.

Kim Kardashian also raised money for charities this way. In 2014, her family sold books, paintings and even Kim’s underwear. So the Kardashians were finally able to donate over 180,000 francs.

Shoes, a handkerchief and a pregnancy test
Last April, Kim Kardashian’s ex-husband Kanye West also auctioned off a worn item of clothing: his self-designed “Nike Air Yeezy 1” sneakers. Around 1.5 million francs was paid for the shoes that he is said to have worn at a Grammy performance in 2008. Less lucrative, but all the more questionable, is the sale of actress Scarlett Johansson’s used handkerchief. A fan bought the cloth including a signed bag for 4,800 francs. The actress took it with humor and donated the money.

Britney Spears’ used pregnancy test was almost as expensive. At an auction, a proud CHF 4,000 was sold for this. In 2004 a fan of the singer even tried to sell one of her chewing gum on eBay. However, this violated the guidelines of the online retailer. By the way, edibles seem to be popular: A fan of the band N’Sync once bought a nibbled French toast from Justin Timberlake and paid over 2,700 francs for it.

A molar, a fingernail and a bag of air
Just as bizarre is the auction of a molar by musician John Lennon. After the bobsleigh in St. Moritz it had to be pulled. He then gave the tooth to his housekeeper, who auctioned it off in 2011 and bagged over 28,000 francs – from a dentist.

Speaking of body parts: Lady Gaga’s artificial fingernail, which she lost while performing in Dublin in 2012, was also auctioned. For around 10,000 francs. But the strangest of all auctions was organized by a fan Dieter Bohlen. He claimed on eBay that he caught a breath of air in front of the pop titan’s mansion. In fact, he was able to sell the empty bag for around 380 francs! (zel)
