Fall Out Boy star Pete Wentz compared the playing styles of Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal to certain genres of music. Referring to Federer, Wentz described the Swiss as a guitar solo as there’s just something special about seeing him play.
On the other hand, Wentz compared Nadal and Serena Williams’ style to heavy metal. Wentz is the bassist and lyricist for the rock band Fall Out Boy. “He (Roger Federer) is a guitar solo,” Wentz told tennis.com.
“When you see him play, you see something so incredibly beautiful. “They (Rafael Nadal and Serena Williams) are doomed – heavy metal, relentless, coming out like a train, just super heavy.”
Federer announced plans to return
Federer, who underwent knee surgery last August, turns 41 in August but he’s not done playing tennis yet.
“I’ll have to wait a little longer to start running. I hope that I can increase that more and more over the next few months and hopefully make a comeback in mid or late 2022,” Federer recently told SRF.
“The surgery was the right thing. The knee was no longer good after Wimbledon. it could not go on like that. I’m fine. I walked on crutches for 2 months and had to start all over again.” Federer recently reflected on the past year.
“After many months of battling injuries, my return to the Tour in March after my first surgery highlighted me and gave me the energy to continue my tennis career. I’m thankful for every minute I was able to spend on the court with my fans and my tennis family.
My experience in Doha showed me that my journey as a top athlete is not over yet. The progress I am making every day reinforces my belief that I will be healthy and strong enough to return to the tennis court at the highest level,” Federer wrote in his annual report.
