Can’t wait to see everyone again soon,” Federer captioned his Instagram post.
Federer at peace with his decision and his new life
Since retiring, Federer has spent a lot of time with his family and he has also spent time on the tennis courts – but in a different role lately.Federer has twin daughters (14) and twins (9 years old).
Today, Federer teaches tennis to his children and he even sent some of his children to the Rafa Nadal Academy. During this year’s Wimbledon tournament, Federer once came as a special guest and attended a few matches on Center Court.
During his day at Wimbledon, his father asked him if it was difficult for him to be at Wimbledon as a spectator and not as a player. “My dad leaned over to me and asked, ‘Wouldn’t you like to be on the court right now instead of sitting here?’ I said, ‘Oh, God, no.
I’m so happy to be sitting here.” I felt very happy and at peace, sitting and not playing. The previous year [en 2022]during the celebration of the 100th anniversary of Center Court, I felt that maybe I didn’t want to be there.
It was important for me to be there, but it was an overwhelming feeling, a weird feeling. This year I was very happy to go back. And people were happy to see me happy,” Federer told the Wall Street Journal.
