The Roger Federer Foundation celebrated its 20th anniversary this December 24, and that is why the Swiss published a video on his social networks.
Anniversary of the founding of Roger Federer
The Roger Federer Foundation supports educational projects in southern Africa and Switzerland. The programs focus on improving the quality of early learning and basic education. All activities are carried out and implemented by local non-governmental authorities in close collaboration with local communities. To evaluate the impact, measure changes in supported children’s performance levels, repetition rates, absences or enrollment rates. Lesotho, Malawi, Namibia, Zambia, Zimbabwe, South Africa are some of the countries in which they work, in addition to the native country of the former tennis player, who has always shown himself doing charity work.
Federer expresses his emotions
On his social networks, Roger wrote: «Today is the 20th anniversary of the Roger Federer Foundation! A huge thank you to everyone who has supported us over the last two decades. We would not have been able to impact the lives of so many children without you.«.
On the other hand, through a video from the foundation, Federer expressed: “The Roger Federer Foundation turns 20 this year. What a milestone. I still remember signing the founding documents on Christmas Eve 2003 with my parents.. Then, at the age of 22, I never would have imagined how incredibly exciting and fulfilling this journey would be.”.

Janine Handelexecutive director of the foundation, said: “The Roger Federer Foundation started little by little with a small project in South Africa, in Port Elizabeth, offering scholarships to some children. Little by little we grew in more countries, adding programs and reaching thousands of children. It was exciting to see how the foundation developed over the last few decades, how Roger went from being the founder of his organization to the role of a true agent of change”.
