Social networks have become a fundamental space to interact with other users, share information, thoughts, images and more. In addition, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok… are also a place where well-known personalities can get a little closer to the general public and their followers in particular. But there are times when you no longer want to be there or it simply doesn’t pay off. This is what the Asturian artist Rodrigo Cuevas has stated, who has decided to say goodbye to his Twitter account (now X).
The singer has announced the closure of his profile on this social network for several reasons. “I have just decided, after months of thinking about it, that I am going to close this social network,” Rodrigo Cuevas, EL COMERCIO Culture Prize 2024, begins by saying in his message. He then explains that one of the reasons is the change that the network itself has experienced, beyond the name change, since its inception. “I think there is little left of what it once was and the truth is, I went from having something with its owner,” he says in reference to the tycoon Elon Musk.
However, taking a brief summary of all these years, the positive remains. «I will miss the laughter and knowledge that some of you offered me all this time. “Besis.”
Rodrigo Cuevas thus says goodbye to Twitter, but he does not disappear completely, since the folkloric agitator continues to be very active on his Instagram profile, where he shares his ideas, his projects, the dates of his concerts and more. In short, it lets us get a little closer to its big little universe.

With a professional career that only continues to grow, in recent weeks Rodrigo Cuevas has received, in addition to this newspaper’s award for his tireless work in loudly defending a folklore with a great future that unites generations, the National Music Award Current 2023 from the hand of the Kings in a ceremony in which King Felipe highlighted in his speech the “pride” of the entire country in the “historical and cultural legacy that he has built, not only for himself, but also as a great contribution to the world.
