Next to their son and attentive to each of the judge’s words, this is how Rodolfo Sancho and Silvia Bronchalo appeared during the reading of the sentence of their son, Daniel Sancho, who was sentenced in Thailand to life imprisonment for the murder of Edwin Arrietathe Colombian surgeon with whom she was in a relationship. Both actors, originally from Spain, met punctually at the Samui Provincial Court, where they showed their concern and support for the future of their son, who received the news in tears.

Silvia arrived at the scene with a serious expression and left the scene in the same way. The big difference, besides a clear concern, was her glasses, because when she left she covered her face with dark ones with which she also avoided making eye contact with those present. Without making any statements, Bronchalo got into a car to get away from the courts.
The actor also tried to keep his emotions at bay, and after hearing the sentence he told the media present that they will “keep fighting. Always keep fighting.” Known for series such as Isabel, Leaving Class o The Ministry of Time; Rodolfo also tried to hide his emotions with sunglasses.

The fight that Rodolfo refers to in the midst of this complicated situation is in the hands of his lawyers, who will present an appeal in the next few days seeking to reduce Daniel’s sentence. However, like many legal procedures, this could take time, at least two more years of paperwork and court dates with nothing certain. In addition to life imprisonment, Daniel has been sentenced to compensate the Arrieta family with one hundred thousand euros (about 110 thousand dollars), an amount considerably less than the 700 thousand euros (775 thousand dollars) that had been requested at the beginning.
Daniel Sancho’s future in prison
A year ago, the details of how Daniel Sancho allegedly took the life of his then partner shocked the entire world. After being arrested, he spent a year in Koh Samui prison on remand, where he will remain until his transfer to the Nakhon Si Tammarat centre, a high-security facility that holds more than 4,200 prisoners considered the most dangerous in the country.

Rodolfo and Silvia are aware of the prison to which their son will be sent, a place that does not admit people with sentences of less than 15 years. And his arrival at the center could pose a certain risk to his own safety, a fate that both actors hope to prevent.
Although both have travelled to Thailand to support their son, the relationship between Silvia and Rodolfo is tense. Just hours before the sentencing, she made harsh statements against her ex-partner. Specifically, she disagrees with the way Rodolfo has handled the issue, charging for interviews about this delicate situation.
