State Duma deputy, three-time Olympic champion Irina Rodnina has condemned actors who complain about a drop in revenue during the coronavirus pandemic. Her words are quoted by Sport-Express.
“How many laws, decrees, and government decrees we have already approved to support small and medium-sized businesses, and the actors are groaning as they starve,” Rodnina said. She compared them to athletes who did not complain, despite the reduction in salaries and the lack of bonuses.
Earlier, the distress of the artists during the coronavirus pandemic was announced by producer Joseph Prigozhin. According to him, artists who during their creative activity paid taxes have the full right to demand support from the state.
Rodnina is a three-time Olympic champion and ten-time world champion in pair skating. In December 2007, she was elected as a deputy of the State Duma on the list of “United Russia” from the Omsk region. She is also a member of the Presidential Council on Physical Culture and Sports.
