Rodgers breaks record; Packers top Browns at Christmas

Aaron Rodgers passed Brett Favre as Green Bay’s all-time leader in touchdown passes, and the Packers intercepted four shipments of Baker Mayfield to prevail on Saturday 24-22 in a Christmas game against the Browns of Cleveland

Rodgers completed 24 of 34 passes for 202 yards, with three touchdowns, to increase his total to 445. Favre threw 508 touchdown passes during his Hall of Fame career, including 442 with Green Bay.

However, it was the Green Bay defense that secured this victory, capturing Mayfield five times and intercepting all four of his shipments, something that had not happened to him in his career.

The Packers’ three touchdowns came after interceptions of Mayfield. Green Bay (12-3) pocketed the win when Rasul Douglas intercepted his second pass of the day, 43 seconds from the end.

Mayfield completed 21 of 36 passes for 222 yards, with two touchdowns and all four intercepted, on his return from the COVID-19 list. Cleveland (7-8) hadn’t had its starting quarterback in Monday’s game, a 16-14 loss to the Raiders in Las Vegas
