The 3rd edition of the “La Rose de Rodez” solidarity race broke a new record for a good cause this Sunday, October 13.
With 1,900 people registered yesterday for the “La rose de Rodez” solidarity race intended to raise awareness among women about breast cancer screening and to raise funds for research, the people of Aveyron showed, once again, their awareness of this cause . The organizers were even victims of their success since the thousand T-shirts were obviously not enough. And the meals, limited to 250 people, were also quickly sold out.
“You are the ambassadors”
Which made Anne Conti, president of the Aveyron branch of the League Against Cancer, say: “It’s unexpected and it’s a great pleasure to see all these people working for a good cause. The money raised will be used to care and research (registration was €10, editor’s note)”. For her part, Chantal Hurtes, president of the Cami sport et Cancer, recalled the benefits of sport and told the participants before leaving for the stud farm: “You are ambassadors.”
Prostate in November, colon in March
Ambassadors who had the choice between two loops of 3 and 6 km, running and on foot, under a radiant sun. Coffee, fouace, a little warm-up with the O’lala fit, free osteopathy workshop, photo session with the MJC Rodez club, the workshops grow each year around the event. A major event which should not overshadow other causes: Movember for the fight against testicular and prostate cancer, Mars Bleu against colorectal cancer.
