Last night, the Raf started its season with a draw at Quevilly (0-0).
A point and then goes away. If Laurent Peyrelade and his men probably hoped for better from this first day against Quevilly, the Ruthénois had to settle for a parity score last night (0-0) on the lawn of the Robert-Diochon stadium. It must be said that they could very well not have pocketed the slightest point, if they had not had a certain Adilson Malanda in their team. Indeed, the 20-year-old central defender has certainly delivered one of his best performances in blood and gold colors.
Aligned alongside Joris Chougrani and Serge-Philippe Raux-Yao, Malanda saved his club from corrections many times… Especially in the first period. In the space of nine minutes, between the 23rd and 32nd, the player trained in Nîmes made three decisive interventions near the goal line. It’s a safe bet that Adilson Malanda has scored a lot of points in the head of his coach, when he said at a press conference on Friday that he was still waiting for at least one rookie in central defense. If it wasn’t always justified, one or two contentious interventions from the Norman defenders should probably have led the man in black to whistle in favor of Rodez.
Next appointment in six days now. Laurent Peyrelade and his players will face the Girondins de Bordeaux on Saturday at 7 p.m. for their first home game of the season. The latter also conceded a draw (0-0) against Valenciennes yesterday.
