The story of an aging woman and her aloof son enters the story of an irresponsible playboy, Matylda’s grandson Pavel, who still treats his grandmother as equals in the stages of her ongoing illness. “Our story contains motifs such as illness, death, the breakdown of traditional family ties, and as such it cannot be a light-hearted comedy, but in no way do we resign ourselves to the viewer. On the contrary. In the topic, we look for moments of hope and optimism in life, the possibility of self-enrichment, and thanks to personal experience we know that the coexistence of a family with such an ill member brings a lot of comical or tragicomic situations,” say screenwriter and producer Nataša Slavíková and screenwriter and director Petr Slavík.
