Rod Stewart is still unable to perform. While he had to cancel in Vegas because of strep throat, Corona is now keeping him away from the stage.
Rod Stewart (79) has once again had his plans thwarted. After the music star had to cancel an important show in Las Vegas four days ago, further concert postponements followed – but due to other health problems. This is what it says on the official Instagram page The Briton announced that he was currently suffering from a corona infection and had to cancel two performances.
For this reason, both the concert in the US state of Nevada and the one that followed in California have been postponed – not canceled. They will be rescheduled for August 18 and 20 respectively. Ticket holders are advised to hold on to their tickets as they remain valid.
Vegas show number 200 also fell through
During the week, Stewart had to cancel a very special event at short notice. In 2011, he performed in Las Vegas for the first time with “Rod Stewart: The Hits”. On August 7, he wanted to celebrate the end of his Las Vegas concerts after around 13 years with his 200th appearance in the series in the famous Colosseum at Caesars Palace. But that was not to happen.
However, there was no mention of Corona as a reason for the cancellation at that time. In the corresponding post Stewart wrote that he had contracted streptococcal pharyngitis, a bacterial infection of the throat. Most people can work with it, “obviously not me,” Stewart explains the rejection.
Stewart’s long-running Vegas appearances have not come to an inglorious end. Although it was originally supposed to be his last show, shortly before his cancellation the 79-year-old was able to announce that he would continue next year. “Vegas, I’m having too much fun to let this end, so we’re coming back for an encore,” he also said on Instagram.
