“We regret to announce that Rod Stewart’s concert tonight in Stateline, NV and his August 10th concert in Lincoln, CA have been postponed while the singer recovers from a summer strain of Covid-19,” they wrote.
The California show, which was scheduled to take place at Thunder Valley Casino, is now rescheduled for August 18.while the Nevada concert is scheduled for August 20.
Stewart, 79, canceled her August 7 show for her Las Vegas residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace earlier this week after falling ill with strep throatIt would have been the 200th show of his residency.
“Most people can work through strep throat, but I obviously can’t,” he explained in his post. “I’m completely devastated… I’ve been looking forward to your concert for a long time. I’m deeply sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused you,” the singer said at the time, although he confirmed that he will return to perform at The Colosseum in 2025.
The “Do Ya Think I’m Sexy” singer’s illness comes less than two weeks after he spoke about his possible death with the US Sun newspaper.
“I am aware that my days are numbered, but I am not afraid, we all have to die at some point, so we are all in the same situation. I am going to enjoy these last years as much as I can,” he said then.
