Rocky Sindir Hasto at Jokowi Vs SBY Competition: Magic, Wants to Play Data

Social and political observers Rocky Gerung accused PDIP of holding a competition to measure the performance of the President’s government Joko Widodo and Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) is something miraculous.

Rocky admitted that he was surprised by the move by the Secretary General of PDIP Hasto Kristiyanto to open the scholarship. This is because a number of data show that SBY’s achievements as President are better than Jokowi’s. He therefore suspected that the results of the competition were used to distort the data on the achievements of the two presidents.

“So it’s a miracle that PDIP proposed a kind of competition to reverse the data,” said Rocky in the Dharmawangsa area, South Jakarta, Thursday (28/10).

The academic cites a number of data showing that President SBY’s achievements are far above Jokowi’s. For example, the fiscal space under SBY, which increased by 200 percent, is far above Jokowi’s which only increased by 20 percent.

Fiscal space in general is the remaining funds from the budget that has been previously allocated.

Then, the prosperity rate under SBY, continued Rocky, also rose to 200 percent, ahead of Jokowi who was at 20 percent. Rocky explained that the data was recorded internationally, including at the World Bank.

“So you can imagine the panic of the reporting party regarding the condition of the Indonesian people so Hasto forced make competitions, scholarships. Of course with the intention of changing the data,” he said.

Rocky also mentioned the statement of the Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani who said that the current government debt is a legacy from the previous government. Responding to this, Rocky assessed that Sri Mulyani’s statement was not wrong.

However, according to him, this logic must also be followed, so that the debt under SBY was also the debt under President Megawati Soekarnoputri.

The Secretary General of the DPP PDIP, Hasto Kristiyanto, previously offered scholarships for those who wish to conduct academic studies to compare the performance of President Jokowi and SBY.

According to Hasto, an academic study is needed so that the performance comparison between SBY and Jokowi is objective and does not just claim each other. Hasto’s offer responded to the satire of the Deputy for Bappilu DPP of the Democratic Party, Kamhar Lakumani, who considered himself asleep during SBY’s leadership.

“Actually the most objective when doing academic research, by using mix method,” he explained to reporters at the PDI-P office, Central Jakarta, Saturday (23/10).
