Rocky Gerung reported to the police by many people in various regions because Rocky’s words were considered to have insulted President Joko Widodo (Jokowi). Rocky then spoke. Here are Rocky’s five statements.
Rocky’s remark that sparked the protest was one that contained the words ‘stupid bastard‘. The two words even trended on Twitter. Demonstrations of Jokowi’s support groups were held in many areas.
Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim) said there were 13 reports against Rocky in a number of Polda, namely 1 report at Bareskrim, 3 at Polda Metro Jaya, 3 at Polda North Sumatra, 3 at Polda East Kalimantan, 3 at Polda Central Kalimantan, 1 was addressed to the National Police Chief, and 1 at Polda DIY.
Rocky held a press conference in the Jl Dr Kusumaatmadja area, Menteng, Central Jakarta, Friday (4/8/2023) afternoon. Here are five of his statements:
1. Have no grudge against Jokowi
Rocky Gerung admits that he has no negative feelings personally towards President Jokowi. In fact, Rocky claimed to be friends with Jokowi’s son. He was also once asked for criticism by Jokowi’s son and he gave criticism.
“I have no grudge against Pak Jokowi,” said Rocky at a press conference.

Rocky also admitted that he was invited when Jokowi’s child got married. He admitted that he was invited by VIP but could not attend.
