Rockstar is said to be working not only on bringing the sequel to the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S/X, but also a remake of Red Dead Redemption.
It is actually remarkable that Red Dead Redemption 2 has not yet released a next-gen upgrade. The Western was released in 2020 and is the developer’s second best-selling game with 44 million copies sold.
According to Chris Klippel of Rockstar Mag Does the developer have a good reason for that? Work is not only underway on a PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S/X version of Red Dead Redemption 2, but also on a remake of its predecessor.
The journalist claims that the upgrade has been developed since 2020 and will be the first to appear. When this would be is not yet known, as is the alleged remake of the first Red Dead Redemption.
Take-Two recently announced in a presentation to its investors that it would come up with eight remasters/remakes before 2025. It could very well be that Red Dead is one of them.
