Rockstar Games Announces Return to Office for Grand Theft Auto VI Development Team

After the official announcement and the subsequent release of the first trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI, it can be concluded that the development of one of the most anticipated games today is proceeding according to plan. However, the developers are currently preparing for one important operational change, which is the return of all employees to their 100% involvement directly in the studio’s offices. In other words, the hybrid work model, which since the coronavirus pandemic has included the possibility of working from home several days a week, will be discontinued from April 1 of this year.

The information is provided by journalist Jason Schreier via Bloomberg website and he bases the report on the wording of an email to employees, which he obtained thanks to one of his sources at the Rockstar studio. Underneath the report on the return to workstations in the individual offices of the branched studio is signed the head of publishing Jenn Kolbe, who cites increased productivity and safety issues as the main reason for the above decision.

“These changes put us in the best possible position to achieve the expected level of quality and refinement with the next Grand Theft Auto,” Kolbe says, also referring to a large internal roadmap that matches the expectations associated with the brand. Kolbe also states that individual employees receive attractive benefits from working in offices, but was not specific in the report. In any case, it should be true that GTA VI is the final stage of development and the expected release during the next year could be valid.
