The post began by mentioning that Rockstar’s 25th anniversary is next month as well, meaning the trailer For the game GTA 6 will probably be released on the same day. However there is only a vague “December 1998” window for the studio’s founding date, as it was only announced on January 22 of the following year.
However, The Game Awards will be held on December 7, making this another possible date for the trailer reveal. Rockstar has not confirmed an appearance at the awards ceremony, but given that it’s usually full of new reveals and announcements from major developers, a GTA 6 appearance wouldn’t be out of place.
Actors’ strike
As SAG-AFTRA and major video game representatives continue to negotiate a new union contract amid a year filled with major labor actions, the possibility of a strike by video game representatives still looms.
In response to an investor question at Take-Two’s earnings call about whether or not GTA 6 might see a delay in the event of a strike, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick believes it’s unlikely that video game representatives at SAG-AFTRA will go on strike. Like their counterparts in television and film. Instead, he said he believed the negotiations would end “well.”
As he put it: “Negotiations are expected to resume next week. We are optimistic. We value all our talents greatly. “We value our excellent working relationships and look forward to reaching an agreement that serves everyone well,” he said, but added that “if things don’t go well now, we are fully protected.”
Zelnick’s confidence that GTA 6 will not be affected by such a strike can perhaps be taken as a hint that the game’s audio performance has already been recorded, indicating that this process is likely close to the finish line.
