‘Old School’, a simulation game reminiscent of ‘Bully’, has been released on Steam.
Old School, a school-day simulation game developed by MDickie, has been released. The game was released on Nintendo Switch on September 9th and Steam on the 6th, and does not support Korean. It is similar to Rockstar Games’ Bully in that you can become a student, perform daily tasks, and engage in hand-to-hand combat with your friends.
Players must attend classes at the correct time and acquire the knowledge necessary for graduation at a 90s-style school equipped with Pentium computers and school uniforms. If you faithfully attend classes and graduate, you will become a teacher and play the second game. As it is a simulation game, the characters that appear can be selected and edited at will by the player.
Despite this normal appearance, the developers did not forget that schools are the first places where people experience violence. Players can use various wrestling techniques and surrounding objects to throw out classmates they do not like and destroy school property such as computers and studios. When violent acts exceed a certain limit, school teachers and janitors are dispatched and directly subdue the protagonist.
Game developer MDickie has developed a variety of wrestling simulation games in addition to Old School. In particular, ‘Wrestling Empire’, which he released in 2021, received ‘overwhelmingly positive’ reviews from Steam users (95% positive out of 1,584). The new game Old School is also currently receiving ‘very positive’ reviews (93% positive out of 53) on Steam, with good reviews such as “It’s a messy mess in many ways, but that part is so fun,” and “If you enjoyed Bully, you’ll like this game.” I left a review.
