A few days ago, Rocket League announced that it had identified nearly 75 million players in five years. Today Psyonix, which is owned by Epic Games, announces the next chapter in the life of the game.
Indeed, the game team ad than Rocket League will become free to play in the coming weeks. On this occasion, the title will be returned available on the Epic Games Store. No specific date is given, but a few details are already unveiled on how it will turn out. To begin with, know that this version will be strictly identical current versions in terms of gameplay, but also that Psyonix will integrate cross-platform progression in item inventory, which will cause a reorganization of tournaments and challenges. The Rocket Pass and Competitive Ranking will be transferable by logging into an Epic Games account.
Once the title is available for free-to-play, players will be able to keep their progress, regardless of the platform on which he is playing. Be careful, however, because the Steam version will no longer be available for download, but will remain playable for those who have the title. In addition, Psyonix specifies that all players who have launched the game at least once online before the switchover will receive the Legacy pack, which will include:
- All Rocket League DLC released before it was free
- The Title “Est. 20XX” which displays the first year you have played Rocket League
- Over 200 common items improved in “Legacy” quality
- Golden Cosmos Boost
- Dieci-Oro wheels
- A player banner
